Make an Impression

"Make an Impression"

Nothing makes an impression more than bold prints–and nothing’s more timeless than Aztec-inspired designs that, well, says you’re fine with standing out in a crowd.

For this back to school post, Jeremy is wearing a couple of things bought from Zalora Philippines–the v-neck and the colored chinos. His canvas shoes are from a boutique in Greenhills, and the steel leaf accessory is a necklace from the collection of Outkast Paradigm.

What we’re focusing on here though is the rucksack from Time-Lined.

A rucksack is a bag where you can throw anything in, and still be sure that you have space for more. Which is why it’s important that a rucksack be dependable and of quality-make.

Time-Lined’s bags seem to be that way. The materials are sturdy. But we do have a problem with the actual make. This particular bag seems to have missed the mark in the sewing of one of the leather straps. But we don’t blame Time-Lined so much as we do ourselves for not checking the bag after receiving it. (That’s a lesson in shopping. Always check what you’ve bought so you can have it replaced if it’s not to your liking–or if there’s a defect.)

Sky High

"Sky High"

We’ve featured a shirt from AMS Shirts before— and we liked how it looked so much that we got a couple more shirts from them. One of which became a Tumblr Exclusive post.

"Sky High"

This outfit was conceived as a back-to-school look–provided you’re allowed to wear shorts in your school. But it works as a casual get-up too–especially now that school years are being adjusted to start later in the year.

The clouds shirt AMS Shirts feature heavily in this post, but we would also like to bring to front the paisley-lined shorts we got from Zalora.PH.

Zalora.PH, if you have been living under a rock for the past couple of years, is a Pinoy offshoot of an online shopping center that’s already big in Singapore and Malaysia. It makes shopping for clothes (and gifts) very convenient for people who don’t really have time to go to the mall. And they’ve got quite the collection.

And, if you’re already familiar with the online shopping site, do visit again. You’ll notice that they’re carrying more Pinoy brands these days: brands like Straightforward Clothing, (our favorite) Timothy Scotch, and more. They tend to be a little more expensive than the imported clothes by resellers, but they’re made by our fellow Pinoys.

Whatever the Weather

"Whatever the Weather"

What do you do when the weather’s some times hot, some times cold, and some times just right? Find the right outfit to fit the unreliable weather, of course!

"Whatever the Weather"

Simplicity goes a long way–so long as it’s also the right fit. For example, in this ensemble, Jeremy is wearing a Bench Body tee without any designs. It’s just blue. But because the shirt size is just right for his body type, it doesn’t matter that there are no statements emblazoned across the tee. What matters is that Jeremy is comfortable with the shirt.

We make up for the simplicity of the shirt with a bit of pomp on the shorts though. We found this pair of ‘Aztec Shorts’ at a bazaar at Eton Centris from a brand called Third Street Clothing. And they have it in many colors. Which you can find on their Facebook page, alongside the snapbacks they’re also selling.

As Summer comes to its end, we’re going to start featuring back-to-the-grind outfits again. But before we do, we want to know what looks worked best for you this Summer!
