What is Pinoy Threads?
It’s a blog. Obviously.
Pinoy Threads is actually a group of people who are into fashion, photography, and promoting the local economy–namely, the local fashion industry. Mind you, when I say fashion, don’t think runway or big-name designers. It’s anything designed, made, and/or sold by Filipinos.
Our group deals more with street wear, stuff you can look good in without breaking the bank. Basically, what Garage Magazine was during its first few issues. But we’re not excluding girls.
Who are you?
Pinoy Threads is being managed by Jason John Lim, who takes most of the photos that you will see in this blog. He is also the man in charge of the write-ups and the editing. Jihan Estrella takes care of the make-up and the styling and scouting for locations. She also takes awesome photos, which you’ll see more of as we roll along. Ceres Barrios is the mistress of make-up who we all bow down to. She’s also in charge of our out-of-the-box looks. Naomi Pitargue, Teejay Marquez and Hiro Peralta complete our current group, all three of whom have appeared in the blog as our models.
Do you really know what’s fashionable and what’s not?
We have our own fashion taste that we’re presenting to you, fellow fashion connoisseur. We’re not claiming to be fashion forward or fashion gurus–but we like to think that we at least know what’s a fashion do, and what’s a fashion don’t.
How can we contact you?
Well, we have an e-mail address, so that’s one way. You can e-mail us at pinoythreads (at) yahoo (dot) com. We’ll try to set up more accounts as we roll along.
